The first of the 5 heavyweights ordered has been delivered to Wagenborg Nedlift in Hengelo. The latest model of the MAN TGX 26.580 6x4 BL D38 will be used as a ballast truck for the 700-tonne Liebherr mobile telescopic crane.
Germany, like the Netherlands, is in the process of expanding its electricity grid. This is the result of increasing demand for electricity combined with a growing supply of sustainably generated energy from (offshore) wind and solar power. These expansion projects sometimes require heavy transformers. And that, in turn, is a great challenge for Wagenborg Nedlift's transformer team!
Flexible deployment, strong and versatile: it's all true for Wagenborg Nedlift's knuckleboom cranes. Even more reason to expand the fleet with yet another all-rounder. So last week, a brand new Volvo FH with 92tm Palfinger PK92002SH rolled onto the yard in Groningen.
Twence in Hengelo is building a large-scale CO2 capture plant that will annually capture 100,000 tonnes of CO2 from flue gases. An innovative sustainability project that contributes significantly to reducing CO2 emissions in the region and making the chain more sustainable.
Last week, Gerard Bastiaansen, general manager of Wagenborg Nedlift, put the official signature to the previously agreed order for delivery of no less than five new MAN heavy haulage trucks. It concerns the new model of the MAN TGX 6x4. Nedlift has been using four trucks of the previous type to its full satisfaction since 2019. It is therefore logical that the MAN TGX 6x4 has again been selected to expand the fleet.
About 140 kilometers off the Norwegian coast, a unique floating wind farm is being constructed: the Hywind Tampen Floating Offshore Windfarm project. Eleven floating wind turbines, together generating 88 MW of power, will power the five offshore oil platforms at Snorre and Gullfaks.
An exceptional transport operation was carried out in Assen, Drenthe over the past few days. Two transformers, each weighing 250 tonnes, were transported to the site for the expansion of the Zeijerveen transformer station. A skillful piece of heavy transport work!
Expansion work on the nitrogen plant in Zuidbroek, Groningen, is in full swing. The nitrogen plant processes imported gas for the Dutch network. The planned expansion is expected to be completed in 2022.
Last week, the crew of Wagenborg Nedlift and Wagenborg Stevedoring worked together on a transformation project of survey vessel EDT Protea. This whip will be transformed to a walk-to-work vessel on behalf of the North Sea offshore sector.
