Template transport

Saint-Brieuc Offshore Wind Farm is being constructed in the Bay of Saint-Brieuc in Brittany, 16.3 kilometres off the French coast. When finished, the wind farm will produce 1,820 GWh annually, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 835,000 inhabitants. The installation works will last several months and will continue until 2022. The wind farm will be fully commissioned in 2023.

Template foundation

Van Oord Offshore Wind is planning to install the foundations at the St. Brieuc Offshore Wind Farm. For this purpose, a Pre Piling Template construction was built at the yard of Breman Machinery in IJmuiden. The transport and lifting specialists from Wagenborg Nedlift were called in for the transport and lifting works.

Modular Support System

The Wagenborg Nedlift crew started with the delivery and assembly of a temporary support structure, using the new Modular Support System, which can be set up easily in many different configurations. Besides the various crane activities with the 400 tons crawler crane Liebherr LR-1400 and other mobile telescopic cranes, various transport actions with SPMTs were carried out.

Loadout operation

On Saturday, August 15, the loadout of the complete template was carried out. A smooth operation, thanks to the fine cooperation between all parties involved. A positive and enthusiastic attitude, good communication and nice sunny weather: it all makes working so much easier and more fun!
