A well-known name within Wagenborg and beyond. The face behind many transformer projects, including the Vierverlaten project. But who is Bert Maathuis exactly? What drives him and what challenges him as Senior Project Manager International Projects at Wagenborg Nedlift? We talked to him.
The Meeden high-voltage substation has existed for 50 years and is an important link in the power supply for the region and the rest of the Netherlands. From Meeden, there is also a connection to a high-voltage substation in the German town of Diele, so that power can be exchanged between the Netherlands and Germany.
Wagenborg Nedlift has built up an excellent reputation in transporting transformers in Europe; from The Netherlands to Germany, from Scandinavia to Austria; by road, rail and sea. Projects are always safe, on schedule and completed as agreed.
An entirely sustainable energy supply, that is the ambition of the Dutch government. In 2018, only 7,4% of the power came from a sustainable source. In 2030, the sustainable energy share should be 27% already and in 2050, energy supply should be almost completely sustainable. An ambitious goal! Royal Smit Transformers B.V. intends to actively contribute to that sustainability objective.
