What will you be doing?

As a transport planner, you will play a pivotal role in organising our national and international special transport operations. You will oversee a team of around 10 drivers and operators. It will be your job to make sure that everyone knows what needs to be done, where and when. You will be the main point of contact for any questions or changes. You will also arrange the correct paperwork, such as waybills, exemptions and accompanying documents. You will also keep customers informed about the status of their transport and coordinate with the planning, execution and technical departments. For complex transport operations, you will collaborate with engineers and project leaders to determine safe and feasible routes, including the use of SPMTs (Self-Propelled Modular Transporters) and the necessary escort.

You are a true organiser with a passion for logistics. You enjoy solving puzzles, planning and adapting, even when things get busy. You think ahead, remain calm under pressure and always maintain an overview.

In addition, you will have:

• A completed MBO or HBO degree in logistics, transport or a similar subject.
• You have experience as a planner in the transport sector, and experience with special transport would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of transport legislation, driving times and permits.
• You have good communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
• You will also be proficient with planning software and digital systems.
• Technical insight and an affinity with heavy equipment.
