Pause Button Campaign
At Wagenborg, safety is at the heart of everything we do. It is from this conviction that the Pause Button Campaign was launched in 2024. The campaign encourages colleagues to consciously pause, reassess the situation, and review potential risks, temporarily stopping work whenever necessary.
There are situations where pressing the pause button leads to a change in the approach. In other cases, it confirms that the work can continue safely. Both outcomes are valuable.
Safety Culture Ladder Level 4
Wagenborg complies with the requirements of Level 4 of the Safety Culture Ladder. This is an achievement we are extremely proud of. For many companies in the chemical, infrastructure, and energy sectors, this certification is becoming increasingly important. It demonstrates that we have shifted from a mindset of “we respond when things go wrong” to “we prevent problems before they can happen.”
Achieving SCL Level 4 is an important recognition of our approach to safety and our safety culture. The Pause Button Campaign directly supports and reinforces this commitment.

Safety is part of everyday practice
At Wagenborg, we create a working environment in which employees are both able and encouraged to take responsibility for safety. We work proactively together to prevent risks before they occur. Through the campaign, we make safety a topic of open discussion and give our colleagues the space and confidence to intervene when necessary.
Working safely is about more than simply following rules. It also means looking out for one another and taking responsibility for yourself and those around you. The Pause Button Campaign is not just a slogan. Our colleagues share real-life experiences and events from daily practice that demonstrate its value.
